EMPTY ARENA

By definition, the title of the match is ludicrous. Empty means holding or containing nothing. Lacking force or power. Devoid, Destitute.

Vik Ventressa -Vs- Denrol, Destitute and devoid of meaning. Funny really. I have no doubt some may think of it like that. And I have absolutely no qualms with those opinions. After all, one of us is a washed up has-been, recovering for a long time out of the ring, and the other is Denrol. The man with more retirements then the Australian Cricket Team in an ashes series.

You youthful WWA fans will barely have seen us wrestle. Sure, the odd clips and old PPV tapes and DVDs, but did you ever get to see the heart of either of us? Did you get to see just what makes us tick and just why we hate each other so? You have probably all seen the Falls Count Anywhere Match, but in one match, you just couldn’t grasp the enormity of the situation, particularly for me. It was the biggest match of my career at the time, and I would have done anything to win it. I even got thrown off the Fleet Center roof.

Saying that this match lacks force and is destitute - you can keep your opinions. This match is the biggest of my career. Bigger than my match with Cage. Bigger than my matches with Kraven. Denrol put me on the map, and its sweet irony that I'll be the one to take him off it.

To accurately describe this match, you need to be enlightened to the dictionary definition of "Arena". And I quote... "An enclosed area for the presentation of sports events and spectacles". Spectacle isn’t the word for this match. It doesn't do it justice. "A place or scene where forces contend or events unfold" is better. Two of the greater forces the WWA has seen collide in what will certainly be a bloody, gory mess. I'm facing the greatest of all earth time for god’s sake. So let me paraphrase the two meanings.

"An enclosed arena for the presentation of sports events, where forces contend and events unfold. Much better.

You see, Denrol and I have certain things in common. We are both students of the technical discipline of wrestling. We both had our World Title Reigns cut short. And, we both have our faults. Mine was undoubtedly running away after losing to Kraven. I'm not proud of it. But it happened. And I know I need to change that.

Denrol has the most ridiculously short title reign in history, and is earning a fortune from his retirement pensions.

But the one thing we both have ALWAYS known how to do, was show you guys a good time.

Hell in a Frozen Cell. Pin/Submission/Ladder in a Cage 2/3 falls match. Falls count anywhere. We made the Bourbon Street Brawl what it is. We have provided you fans with some fantastic memories, and you’re going to see it one last time.

Your loyalties may be divided.

Your passions will be running high.

You'll all have a favorite to win.

But who will it be?
