Searching for a Hero (Part 1) London, England. A very old city that has seen a lot of history. World Wars have been fought in it's limits and evil has been defeated here. Today there is no great war being fought in London. Today our focus is smaller. On one man's search for answers.

His name is Gordon Korth. He is what is referred to as a professional wrestler. It is his job to fight in front of millions. To defeat men of great strength, great power, and great intelligence. But a current upcoming fights makes him worry. This is a fight against a man he has battled many times, yet has failed to defeat convincingly. So now he will begin a search, for a former mentor.

Of course first he must get past his wife.

"Alex, I don't want to go over this again. We've fought this fight too many times already."

"Gordon, this is just plain dumb. You and I both know you can defeat Vik Ventressa. You should be in Toronto, getting ready for that match, not driving around the US looking for a missing person."

"He's not missing. I have a pretty good idea where David is. It shouldn't take me long to find him. Certainly it shouldn't take longer than Monday."

"What happens if it does? But for the sake of argument, let's pretend you could find him quickly. What will that do?"

"Again, we've gone over this. Vik has been causing me problems. I shouldn't be fighting him AGAIN I should have beaten him at Total Meltdown. But I didn't."

"You got a bad call by the ref. You would have finished him off if the match went on."

"Maybe. Maybe not. Frankly, something is missing. Maybe it was the time off, but I'm not wrestling as well as I can. So I need a reboot. I need my mistakes pointed out to me. I need help."

Alexandra Korth turns away from her husband in disgust. Her face clearly shows the stress she is under. Between her dual president ships and raising a child, its clear Alex is running out of steam. Her husband on the other hand, seems more focused on the task before him than his wife problems. Alex turns back to Gordon, her face an expression of surrender.

"Than go".

Gordon nods and quickly leaves, cutting off the rest of Alex's remarks. She watches him leave and once the door jams, the former FBI Agent covers her face. With the agony clear in her tone, she whispers to herself.

"I miss you."

The flight between the United States is seven hours long. Thus a man sitting on one such flight has plenty of time to think. Or he could, if he wasn't being annoyed to death by a certain cameraman.

"Tyler, could you for God sakes just shut up and let me read?"

Yes, the infamous Tyler, WWA cameraman. Tyler is well known by WWA fans as being assigned to Tracer Bullet, but sometimes he does receive other assignments. In this case, because Tyler wished to return to the states and Gordon was going there, Tyler was assigned the 5-Star Champion. Not that either man is exactly thrilled with this assignment.

"Hey, I'm not trying to annoy you. I just don't like flying."

"How about you try sleeping and not chewing my ear off?"

Tyler seems to consider that idea for a moment and than finally he sets his chair back and nervously closes his eyes. Gordon sighs in relief and looks out the window. His thoughts go elsewhere, to the past. Memories of his training. Of learning the hard way about respect. It's funny. While respected and feared by many, Gordon also receives a large amount of disrespect from the other wrestlers. He believes that if any of his doubters had to go through the training he did, they would be just a little bit nicer to him.

Running. Bodyslam. Stand up. Clothesline. Stand up. kick to midsection followed by an arm drag. Stand Up. Running. Punch to the gut. And again.

"How much longer sir?"

"We're going to keep doing this until you puke. Than we'll give you a few mintues to recover and than we'll do it again. Until that bucket in the corner is full Korth."

A younger Gordon sighs and pauses. Instantly Wattsoner is in his face.

"What are you doing Korth?"

"I've had it with this sir. I'm sick of spending every day getting my ass kicked. I'm sick of coming in here and leaving without learning anything. At what point are we going to stop this bullsh*t and when am I going to learn how to wrestle?"

Gordon is nervous, thinking Wattsoner will just scream at him. But instead the grizzly veteran simply smiles and laughs. After a moment, not sure what else to do, Gordon laughs with him. This goes on for a few moments, before suddenly Wattsoner slaps him. The laughter stop instantly.

"Welcome to the crossroads Korth. This is where you make your choice. You came to me wanting to become a wrestler. I told you to g home, I'm retired. You left, but than you were back the next day. And the day after that. And the day after THAT. You convinced me than you had some of the willpower to do this. Now you have to show me how much you really want this. Korth, you're either going to be the biggest flop this business has ever seen or you're going to be the greatest wrestler ever. Now is the time you have to decide what you really want."

Dead silence. Wattsoner's words clearly cut through Gordon. But slowly he comes to his decision and nods his head.

"I'll do this."

"Good. Than let's get back to it. Maybe tomorrow I'll teach you how to punch. If I'm in a good mood."

The plane begins it's decent. Distant memories fade away. And the search for a lost hero begins.
