April 8th, 2008|NEW YORK, New York-- In a story that shocked both wrestling fans and movie fans worldwide, actor/stuntman Jaymz Watkins has agreed to terms on a contract with WWA. No details have been revealed as to the length or value of the contract, but what has been revealed is that he will serve a competitive role, as opposed to a non-wrestling role. The only comment from Watkins? "I'm ready."
Watkins became a worldwide and cultural phenomenon after his portrayal of Abraham in the "Driven Under" series of films, even receiving Best Acting honors at the Saturn Awards, which is the most prestigious awards ceremony for science fiction. He was also a nominee for Best Actor in a Drama at the Golden Globes, which he lost to Bruce Campbell.
A man with virtually no wrestling experience in his background, Watkins does not appear on the surface to be making a wise decision. However, he made such a splash in his tryout match that he was given an opportunity in a Fatal Four Way match, at WWA's biggest show of the year Rage in the Cage, with a championship belt on the line.
There will be more on this story as it progresses.
