The former WWA Champion returns for the rebirth, can he cap his return by winning Best of the Best?
Rankings
(Grunge sat in deep thought, his robust back pressing into one of the chairs that lined across a great table. The mammoth table's black finish reflected his same grizzled image back up at him. His thoughts had been on the Birthday Brawl, his desperation and at the same time trepidation, about getting in. Now her also had to worry about wrestling against people he considered friends on Monday night. And worst of all he had to team with Tracer Bullet and a partner of his choosing to get the job done. Welcome to Matt Warr’s twisted mind in action.)
Grunge: I really should be happy.
I have purchased the long awaited and much over-due DVD edition of ED WOOD.
And it is lovely.
And there was much rejoicing.
Seriously. It was pushed back and put on hold "indefinitely" what, four times maybe? And finally, this past February...it was going to come out, but two weeks before its release date, they pulled it. Some shipments had to be returned.
Queer goings-on, I says.
But it's out and here and I'm happy...so yeah. But now my mood is spoiled. I have nothing on my mind except one thing, making up for dropping the ball at last year’s Rage in the Cage. At least I lasted longer than Denrol.
(His blue colored eyes slid past his reflection to his right, to the CD player. Grunge wore a yellow polo shirt that hung loose hiding his true and impressive physique. His blonde and bright red hair was clipped short with small quills that were combed over cascading onto his brow. Julie had insisted that he get a hair-cut and a clean shave. He turned the player and Huey Lewis and the News begins to play.)
Grunge: The CD that I'm force fed is unleashing the siren songs of Huey Lewis and the News. I cannot pay too much attention, or else I'll be further lulled into the mediocrity that holds sway today.
Tell me about the heart of rock n' roll, Huey. Prove to me that you actually know something about this music; this music that derives its name from an old African American euphemism for sex. Tell me Huey - can you really tell me about the heart of rock n' roll when your own version of the music is so...sexless. It’s so passionless.
Hey...Huey...how are the 'Niners doin'?
I suppose that’s why I really don’t want to tag with Tracer Bullet. He’s got a lot in common with Huey Lewis. Tracer isn’t passionless but their both products of a bygone era. Both are trying to reclaim their legends by continuing to pass out mediocre work. For there of the grace of God go I. I hope if I ever go out of my prime I would devote my life to building up new talent, secure a legacy that way. After all people used to look at Tracer Bullet as an example of what a champion could be. Never quitting never compromises their beliefs.
(A silence came across the room as Grunge went quiet for a moment.)
Grunge: But like I said Tracer has passion. I just don’t like where it’s taking him. I like Mal and maybe Mal did do something bad but Tracer is just as corrupt as anybody considering the tactics he’s taken lately.
Of course I’m out to win the match. Chance is an ally although I’m not sure how fond of me he is right now. I did botch the match against Kraven. Sure I couldn’t help the blood loss but still. JuceMystA is a good competitor. He beat Levi after all.
So I’m in a bad situation but I get to pick the partner. I could go with Craven Moore or Brian Calvin or…heh, hehheh. That’s good.
(The lights begin to go off in Grunge’s eyes as he chuckles.)
Grunge: Maybe I still can have fun on Monday
Rock and roll.
