Road to Brawl part 4 **Awakenings** Running his hand across the paperback book he holds before him. Shaman opens it slowly as it reads History of the World of Wrestling. He silently runs his fingers across each page. Seemingly browsing the past as he turns the next page. He seems to be trying to find something. It seems as if he is trying to feel the drive and hatred the men had for the business and the people who laughed at them. He wonders if they felt like he does about the doubts and the games. He wonders if they had ever expressed the anger and hatred he holds close to his soul. The being he hides inside fearful of letting him go again. Now he looks at one man Chief Jay Strongbow a man he had met a few years ago. A man who admitted to him that using the anger, Hatred, and rage as a tool was what carried him so far in the business. He stares at the picture as Suzy walks into the room and looks at him shaking her head.

Suzy: You’ve been staring at that book for hours. What does it hold that is so important for you to be looking over?

Shaman: It holds all the idols and icons of the past. Some are my heroes as I grew up Chief Jay StrongBow, Hulk Hogan, Tatanka, Mr. Fuji, Billy Graham, and many others. Mostly all gone now except for the memories of their old matches. I am thirty years old and have been in the business for over ten years Suzy Eight of those years with the WWA. Why am I looking at this book? I am comparing their lives with mine. I am comparing the deciding moment that made them even greater legends.

Suzy: So your kind of having a Kodak moment with yourself then?

Shaman: Smart ass! Seriously Suzy I am looking at the defining moments of their careers and comparing them with mine. I have a few of them and trust me when I say that I am concentrating on the defining moments of my life and career. I can remember every hit and every blow from a chair. Have I ever gone so far as drag myself from the ring without standing up. No I have always gotten up on my own two feet and walked away. There is nothing that can stop me from getting to where I am at in the future.

Closing the book Shaman lifts it and hands it over to Suzy. Smiling to her he shakes his head. She takes the book and places it into the book cabinet nearby as she opens the refrigerator near the book cabinet and pulls out two beers and opens them both as she hands one to Shaman as he grins and takes the first drink.

Shaman: Ahhh refreshing. Strange thing to me is this brawl will be refreshing to me. I am finally opening some people’s eyes. I think they are beginning to believe that I am out to hurt them. Some of them are actually going as far as preparing to stop me from gaining any of the titles. Which one do I want for all to fear trying to get from me? I need a tool for creation and one of those titles on the line will be what I want. It will be the tool for my recreation or shall I say rebirth from the ashes. Like a Phoenix from its own ashes I shall rise again and become whole. I will return from that whence I was hiding. No more shall I walk away. The thirst has returned. The hunger has begun and it knaws at my innards like a dog on a bone looking for the last scrap of meat upon it.

Drinking a few more swallows of the beer Shaman looks out at the world through the window.

Shaman: Suzy I wonder if Warr truly knows the demon he has reawaken in me. Does he know the sickness that I had buried long ago? Does he truly understand that which he toils with? It will be soon time for me to remind them all what and who it is they have dared to forget. I feel it struggling to be freed Suzy. The warrior, the being within, the creature of destruction, where does it reveal its ugly head? I am beginning to understand myself more and more lately Suzy. I think the WWA has wanted the beast to return. The sadistic bastard that is the beast within. Something must snap within me. A catastrophic event will cause me to come open once more and reign down chaos and discord amongst those against me. I have the fans again. That is all I need right now. I am going to bring back balance to this once great federation.

Suzy: Shaman shouldn’t you begin to address some of the guys in the match? It is only a few days away.

Shaman looks at Suzy as he pulls a folder off the desk and drinks some more of his beer as he looks through and pulls a piece of paper out. He looks up at Suzy.

Shaman: Your right lets start with Tracer Bullet. Mistakenly believing I am clinging to the past. I am merely bringing up a history lesson of sorts. Bullet while you try to bury your past and start new you fail to remember a few things. If you do not remember and understand the past you will be doomed to repeat it. Hrrrmm perhaps that is what you’re attempting. If you forget it perhaps you will win the WWA Heavyweight title again. Your plan has one flaw Tracer. Your plan forgets the many other men that want that title. In the end your going to bleed like the rest of them. Suffer the pain little man for your ego will be bruised severely.

Casually looking at the paper Suzy reaches over and points at a name.

Shaman: yes I am getting to him. Mal Somers the man who defeated me to get the Belt at the last PPV. I give him applause for beating me in a hard fought match. Mal your going to have to fight like your life depends on it to retain the WWA Heavyweight title.

Shaman folds the paper down in half as he looks at other names. He stops raising an eyebrow as he looks at the camera and then to Suzy.

Shaman: To Warr’s cronies. You will have made the vast mistake of entering the ring with me. You of all are going to suffer pains never imagined for your bosses mistakes. I am truly hoping you will run for your lives because when my hands close around your throats you will all learn that it is a mistake to toy with me.

Shaman crumbles the piece of paper and looks at the camera as he tosses it over his shoulder.

Shaman: To hell with the names on the list save one. Joey Edwards. It is about time you came into your own here in the WWA. You’re as much as an Icon as me. You are an unmentioned franchise player. You deserve your shot at any title in the WWA. Your time in the WWA alone constitutes this. As long as I am in the match you have someone watching your back Joey Edwards. Little buddy you have earned your place. This I tell you my friend. Maybe after Brawl sometime we can have a few brews and talk of old times and past mistakes we had made in the ring and the like.

Suzy leans against Shaman and kisses his cheek.

Suzy: Why the personal mention to Joey Edwards?

Shaman: Over the years I had kind of forgotten him as a friend and shut him out. I am giving him congratulations and letting him know he has a friend and ally in this. A big friend and ally. If things go according to my plans even Joey Edwards will be pleased with the outcome. This will be the ultimate black eye to Matt Warr. Even he can’t stop me know. Who will Warr recruit next to stop me? I say he hasn’t the guts to find a new victim for this little game.

Shaman smiles as he finishes the beer and walks over to a table across the room and pulls a clothe off the top of it revealing a jigsaw puzzle of himself as he grabs a piece and begins to place it in a spot. He then grabs another and smiles as he places that into another slot.

Shaman: Suzy it is time I began putting the pieces of my life back together. The puzzle shall finally be placed where they belong. I hide behind nothing and in the end I will finally open the eyes of all who had sought to steer me in a different direction. Those who had tried to turn me into a corporate player and a face for advertisements and personal gain will suffer. The game will take a more dangerous and drastic turn. Will Warr allow himself to make an ultimate decision and step up the danger factor or will he play it safe and stay away and allow everything to happen on its own.

Suzy reaches down and grabs the last piece of the puzzle and holds it up before Shaman as she puts it in place and smiles at him.

Suzy: Perhaps the puzzle was always there before you and you never realized it till now. Maybe I am just being your loyal and loving girlfriend in supporting you no matter what. Just trust me when I say you have always known what to do. You just weren’t sure that was the right time for this to be finally revealed or as you say reborn.

Shaman looks at Suzy and nods as he turns and looks at the pictures and memories around the room.

Shaman: It is about time I finally make this step forward. Birthday Brawl will be the beginning and the end. I will return and rise from the ashes. With me pain and blood will follow. I am no more the man I was yet I am so much more.

Shaman smiles and walks to the door and pens it as Suzy walks out and follows him outside. He walks to the garage door and opens it as he smiles and reveals his 1969 Harley Davidson soft tail.. He rolls it out into the driveway as he grins and sits on it and turns the key into the on position as he drops the kick start and stands kicking it over as he sits down as the Harley Davidson roars to life. He revs it louder and louder as he lets it idol as Suzy smiles leaning over and kisses his cheek again as Shaman grabs her and gives her a deep loving kiss.

Suzy: It is about time you took her back out. I was beginning to worry you forgot her.

Shaman: No Suzy I never forgot her. I just decided it was best I let her be till I found myself again. The great thing about this is that I am going to be myself once again. This is only the beginning. Either they are with me or they are against me. Either way love me or hate me they will get over it. I am tired of playing by the rules. I am going to begin to make them. There is one simple motto to learn from this. Don’t trust anyone especially a snake in the grass like Matt Warr. It is time for some hard and fast riding!

Shaman burns his tire leaving a smoke cliud as he roars down the driveway as dust and rock kick up from the spinning tires as Suzy smiles and raises her beer and tips an offering towards Shaman as he rides off in the distance.

Suzy: About time the real Native American Bad Ass showed back up. This can only mean bad things for someone like Matt Warr and the boys in the brawl that he doesn’t like.

Suzy walks into the garage and disappears as in the distance a storm front is seen as lightning flashes and a low rumbling sound of thunder is heard. The camera begins to fade as the Harley Davidson can be heard roaring in the distance.
