The former WWA Champion returns for the rebirth, can he cap his return by winning Best of the Best?
Rankings
Luckily for me, it was Craven Moore. When I started in the WWA he was just riding off into the sunset, he was one of the guys that I idolised. His ability to connect with the fans, his dominance in the ring, his heart, his talent.
As I returned his greeting, I thought about that, and had a bit of a chuckle to myself. I would never have imagined that his life and mine would become so inexorably connected to one another.
But there it was. Simply, he and I shared a common foe, a common hatred, for the one man, Dave Harley. The man who just happened to be WWA World Champion by virtue of his underhanded tactics. The man who just happened to use these underhanded tactics on me. The man who just happened to piss Craven Moore off.
Craven called me to congratulate me on being voted the co-2004 World Wrestling Alliance Wrestler of the Year. I was elated! I knew in myself I had the best year of my wrestling career, but it was a real shot in the arm to have been voted the best wrestler of the year by the fans out there.
We started talking about Moore's recent work on the set of 'Brody', but then suddenly I stopped.
"Co-Winner"?
Who was the other lucky winner? Sure, I'd be happy to share the honour with many of the WWA Superstars who have worked so hard in the year gone by.
Shaman?
Chance?
Khaled?
Craven Moore?
I almost dropped the phone as the three little sylabbles I did not want to hear exited Moore's mouth.
Dave Harley.
Wrestler of the Year?
The same turncoat monkey that screwed me over at Birthday Bash?
Hit me in the head with a briefcase and spat all over the X-Corp legacy? Our friendship? The fans?
The same man who used every trick in the book, every loophole to get out of doing what he is paid to do?
The same man who gets all his brainwashed cronies to do his dirty work for him?
The same man that I defeated fair and square for the Intercontinental Title at Rage in the Cage 2004?
I thanked Moore for the call and quickly hung up. I needed some time to collect my thoughts and focus. To group Harley and I together with the same WWAmmie was the ultimate insult.
I needed time to think. Just until the New Year.
Time to set the record straight.
To sort things out once and for all.
Happy New Year Dave, can't wait to see you at Meltdown.
