Rankings
Nothing can stop me. Nothing! The Devil will have his day, and I will be his champion. He will know my worth, as I best anyone in my path.
The Alpha and the Omega.
-----------------------------------------
The scene opens to the outside of a glorious hotel. The camera pans around the compound, and you see that is says Marriot, in red letters.
The screen flashes to outside a double door. On the right it says the room number: 57001, immediately below that it says "Presidential Suite". A hand moves up and knocks on the door, the camera moves away from the door and you now see that it is Mitch that is knocking on the door.
The door opens and Joey Edwards is there, he sort of half smiles, "Mitch.... I appreciate you coming to my room. I would love to chat about some strategy with you."
Mitch enters the room and the door shuts. The screen flashes to the inside of the room, yes, it is indeed the Presidential suite. Mitch looks around in awe, Joey simply ignores his friend. Joey walks over to a 60 inch plasma TV and sits down, Mitch still looking around the hotel room eventually follows suit and sits beside his longtime friend.
Mitch looks at the big screen for a moment, then at Joey, "So, Dude, how did you afford this place? Did the WWA give you an advance or something?"
Joey seems distant, almost in a daze. Finally Joey responds to the question his friend posed, "I suddenly came into some money."
Mitch raises his eye brows and nods in silent understanding. Joey has crossed the line, Mitch thought. Be Mitch said, "Nice, Dude. So why am I here?"
"You know as much about wrestling as anyone I have met. You will help me in forming a plan for the Bourbon Street Brawl", Joey stated flatly, almost matter of factly.
Mitch nods his head in agreement, "Sounds fair."
Joey nods uncaring, knowing his friend would come through for him. "So, I have decided to lump all of the rookies into one group, regardless of affiliation. I feel they are too young or too green to make a difference against me. So I-"
Mitch interrupts hesitantly, "Uh... Joe... The rookies would include Tom Tropicanna, Hatch Monroe and Freddie Arson. Those guys some immense promise in the WWA, you cannot overlook them. I will grant you, that the others are still raw and untapped, but not these three. They are ready for primetime now."
Joey is looking straight forward, not looking at Mitch. Joey forces a smile, still not looking at Mitch to whom he speaks, "I will ignore that you interrupted me. Furthermore, the three you mentioned are throw aways. Tom Tropicanna is a coward, no talent hack, who hides behind his comedy routine. If he ever faced JoeyE in the ring, it would indeed be fu(king hilarious how fast I dispatched him."
Mitch shakes his head slightly, amazed at the rate of deterioration his friend is experiencing. Mitch had seen it before, in a close relative of his. How ironic that this conversation is occurring and Mitch doesn't want to be here.
"Freddie Arson is indeed a wildcard, especially after his little, mysterioso vignette yesterday on Insider. Should I help the Devil, or attack Tracer's team. If he chooses wisely, he will eventually fall to one of the stronger people on Tracer's side. If he chooses unwisely, I will be the first to meet him. I, the Devil's Champion, will indeed take him to hell.", Joey states in sadistic manner. Joey pauses slightly imagining Freddie Arson, actually having the audacity to turn on the Devil. Then the utter destruction due to his betrayal.
"And Hatch Monroe, is a decent wrestler. But he made a HUGE mistake. He reveals he was in cahoots with Mal Somers. Now, that is probably the worst thing he could have done before going into a battle with the arch rivals of his "mentor", Mal Somers. Regardless of his worth, the Devil's team will strike him down before I will get my hands on him. Of this I have no doubt.", Joey said with great conviction. Joey finally looks a Mitch and forces a smile. Mitch obviously relaxes a little at the motion.
Mitch decides he should keep the conversation going, "Since Jimmi Zion all but said his main goal is Chris Sanchez, that will weaken Tracer's team right out of the gates."
Joey nods in agreement, "Jimmy Zion is of no concern for me. His antics are easily bested. And Chris Sanchez, while, perhaps talented, is still in the aforementioned Rookie group. So moving on, I see the Devil Dogs and Kaos joining the fray. But only one from the team, which severely hurts their chances. They are used to relying on each other, and there will be only failure alone for either of these men. So, for them, I move on. I ignore them and move on to the next person, which is...."
Mitch grabs a notebook that lays on the couch between the two. He picks it up and it is indeed a list of the competitors for this years brawl. Mitch scans the list then speaks, "Brian Calvin. He seems tough Joe. You should figure something out for him."
Joey waves his hand trying to dismiss the concern he is feeling, "Calvin and his long assed promos. He seems to be reliving his past right in front of us, make me a little bit nauseous, actually. But seriously, Calvin being the US champ AND being X-Corp will have a HUGE target on his chest. Honestly, I will be looking for him, I have a little something for him, once we get to the street. I don't think the old man hang with JoeyE. I will take it right to his door step. If he answers it, he will fall before my might. If he doesn't answer, I will knock the f*(king house down!"
Mitch nods his head, seemingly concurring with Joey's plan against Calvin. "OK, how about.... Muppet Man. I know he is on your side, but he is a Wildcard."
Joey sits back and thinks for a moment. "I think Muppet Man is indeed gonna try and hurt the Devil, by trying to beat his team. But, there is something inside the Muppet Man that will keep him from besting me."
Mitch interested says, "What is that Joe?"
"I am better than him. Plain and simple, the Muppet Man is lost in the past." Joey states simply. "A lot can happen in a year, blah blah blah!", Joey says mimicking Muppet Man's latest insider promo. "Muppet man is hiding himself behind the mask, hiding behind his past. Using that justify not being good enough. He will fall before the might of the Extreme Being."
Mitch against doesn't believe Joey is discounting such a strong competitor like the Muppet Man, former World Champ. Former DO. Muppet Man will be one of the toughest competitors in this match. But Mitch, said, "How about Nick Adams? Mr. Darkness?"
Joey pauses for a moment, then nods his head, "Yeah... These guys are for sure a force to reckoned with. The good news is I will be on the same team. Darkness will put many people out with his spiked glove, no doubt. And Nick, well, Nick is Nick. He has yet to perform his best since joining the Devil. He will be tough to beat, but again, we will be on the same team." Joey's face is pained as if he had just been struck with a hammer. His face contorts to a sneer after speaking the words he just spoke.
Mitch doesn't notice this and keeps the list going, "The only other guy I see on here, that should pose any sort of a threat would be Ember."
Joey still with a hatefully serious face on, doesn't respond right away. Finally his face loses its hate and he speaks, "Ember. Ember is more than an enigma. He fights for the Devil, at least on the surface. But there is something else in his soul. Something different that what the Devil wants for him. He will be a strong ally in this battle, but in the end, I feel it will be he and I standing before the Devil for judgment. And like the others, I will be the better man and prove to the Devil, I am his best man."
Mitch seems satisfied with the direction Joey is taking, puts the notebook down. "Sounds like you are ready Joe. I wish you luck. A couple more days before it is time."
"Having said that Mitch, I need to take care of some things. So I will see you Sunday afternoon before the brawl.", Joey says as he stands up.
Mitch stands up and they shake hands and Mitch turns to leave. Mitch leaves the room and Joey mutters to himself, "I will have my day."
