(*HHoP) Ignorance Is Bliss FADE IN: - PRE-RECORDED

INT. HOUSE SHOW ARENA, BACKSTAGE- DAY

[We open in the back stage area of the arena just after another one of the WWA’S un-televised house shows come to a close. Standing in front of the camera with a mic in his hand and a dumb look on his face is WWA interviewer Wallace Coleman, he looking around as if he’s looking for someone to interview. Wallace turns and nearly gets run over by an unknown wrestler wearing blue tights. The man doesn’t even say excuse me]

INT. HOUSE SHOW ARENA, FOYER- DAY

[We now see a group of people all crowding the main hall near the venders, every last one of them have a pin and paper with them and their yelling for autographs from whoever’s in the pile of people. The cameraman squeezes past the mass of people until finally he sees what all the fuss is about. Standing at the hot dog vendor buying a hot dog and pop as if no ones saying a word to him is Matt Keith, and with him is Cameron. Showing no loyalty to his fans Matt hands Cameron her cola and the two of them force their way through the crowd hand and hand. Matt must have had a house show match because he’s in full ring attire. Cameron’s wearing a pair of white pants and a pink button up shirt with strips.]

[The two make their way back backstage]

INT. HOUSE SHOW ARENA, BACKSTAGE- DAY

[Cameron and Matt are walking towards the dressing room, talking]

Matt Keith: Jack Slack, what the hell kind of a name is that?

Cameron: Sound kind of catchy to me, you know…stupid catchy. Or like the actor Jack Black.

[Matt laughs]

Matt Keith: I guess so. I just hope next time I’ll get a house show opponent with at least an ounce of skill. Last month that Seymour Johnson wasn’t much of a fight either, but I did have a problem with laughing every time I thought of his name.

Cameron: [Giggling] I think I might have heard some people in the crowd laughing when they announced his name.

[She takes a sip of her cola]

Cameron: Have you done any thinking about Halloween House Of Pain?

[Matt takes a bite of his hotdog]

Matt Keith: That’s all I’ve been thinking about so far, I can’t get it out of my mind.

[They come up to the dressing room marked “MATT KEITH”, Matt opens the door and they enter. The dressing room isn’t as nice as the ones they have at Fiesta, but it does have a TV and a nice couch. In the corner the cameraman can’t help but to get a shot of that huge crucifix with Matt Keith’s poster nailed to it. The one Matt will use in the Number One Fan Brawl against Alex Knight. The camera pans back to Matt and Cameron, Cameron’s now sitting on the couch with her legs crossed]

Matt Keith: It’s funning how you can’t stop thinking about a match like this one. But the funniest thing about it is I still have that Number One Fan match with Knight, and that can end up being equally brutal.

Cameron: Two brutal matches so close together…just promise me that you won’t end up getting seriously hurt.

Matt Keith: [Smiles] I promise.

[Suddenly, the door swings open and there is Wallace Coleman standing there grinning like a complete ass clown, he didn’t even bother to knock. Matt and Cameron are looking at him as if he’s lost his damn mind]

Matt Keith: What do you know, it’s D*ck Butterfinger. I guess they never taught you how to knock on the Planet Of The Apes huh Coleman?

[Wallace looks as if he’s been caught with his pants down]

Cameron: Must be time for some Q&A.

Matt Keith: Must be, since they let the Elephant Man out of his cage.

[Matt slaps his hands together trying to get Wallace’s attention]

Matt Keith: Hello! Earth to Coleman. Are you going to make with the Q&A or am I going to have to throw your ass out? I have other things to do beside get nightmares from staring at your face for too long.

[Like usual it looks like Matt has got a slight glimmer of anger from Wallace Coleman, but being the professional he is he doesn’t even pay his insults that much attention. Even though he would love to]

[Wallace walks up to Matt and sticks the mic in his face]

Coleman: Matt, there are rumors on the internet saying that you’ve been thinking that you’ve gotten way over your head with this Number One Fan Brawl looming and the Halloween House Of Pain only a few days away. Is there any merit to those rumors or are they nothing but words typed down by some board computer nerd?

[Matt smiles and slaps Wallace on the shoulder nearly knocking him over]

Matt Keith: You just answered your own question monkey boy. You see those are just rumors, words that someone thought of to make a hack interviewer like you want to find out if it’s true. I will admit it Coleman I have been thinking about those matches, but I haven’t been thinking that I’ve gotten way over my head. This is where I need to be Coleman, I need matches like this to further establish myself in the WWA as a top player, I need it to get in the running for a title because you know it and all the peons watching know damn well that I deserve it.

Coleman: About title shots, I don’t want to offend you Matt but do you think you’re ready for a title shot.

[Wallace looks as if he wished that be never asked that question; Matt Keith is just to unpredictable]

Matt Keith: You’re very brave to ask me a question like that Coleman.

[Matt takes a step towards Coleman and Wallace takes a step back]

Matt Keith: I’ve BEEN ready for a title shot Coleman, but in the end I get past up for shots and I have to sit back and watch curtain jerkers get shots, guys like Dave Harley, a walking pile of horse s*it. But I’m not the type to cry and moan, I’ll simply whip as much ass as I can until someone takes notice.

Coleman: About the Number One Fan Brawl, what are the official rules?

[An arrogant smirk is spread across Matt’s face; obviously he loves talking about this match]

Matt Keith: Rules Coleman? What rules?

Coleman: So it’s like a hardcore match?

Matt Keith: No, no, you don’t seem to understand. I mean no rules what so ever, not even the moral rules of society applies. This is an unsanctioned fight for your life; the Number One Fan Brawl is a battle to hell and back my friend.

[Wallace seems surprised at the answer given]

Coleman: All of this just because of Alex Knight? Why?

Matt Keith: What reason is there to do anything in this world?

[Matt sits down on the couch next to Cameron and puts his arm around her]

Coleman: Now to switch gears for a second. The Halloween House Of Pain is going to be a star-studded event, chopped full of some of the most dangerous men in the WWA. And to add to that it will be several mystery opponents. However, in the first ten minutes you will be facing off against Chuckster, GAROU, Fuel, Keru No Akiro, and the legend that is Shaman. How do you feel about that?

[Matt looks at Cameron and smiles then turns back to Wallace]

Matt Keith: How do you expect me to feel? Do you think I’m worried? I’m sure that’s how you and the rest of the WWA fan base feels. I look at the line up and I can’t do anything but laugh. You’ve got Suckster, a man that’s never been sober a day in his life, hell, the guy joined the EWA because he thought he was walking into a liquor store. He kisses the fans ass and does exactly what those people tell him to do. Then you have Keru No Akiro, a man that’s about as dangerous as a rubber stamp, the Fab Five on Quire Eye For The Strait Guy are more dangerous. And on top of that you have Shame-Man, a wrestler that so far out of his prime that I had to watch his old matches on a Beta VCR. But the rest of them aren’t even worth my time to speak on.

Coleman: Do you think it’s wise to underestimate athletes of this caliber?

Matt Keith: I see you still don’t get it, after all these interviews you’ve had with me you just don’t get it. It’s not about underestimating, never has been, it’s about knowing your enemies. I know these men like the back of my hand, I watched to tapes and I did my homework. JC Swinger ran rings around Shaman a year back, and I know everything JC knows so Shaman is of little consequence. Now do you get it junior? And as for the mystery men I’m willing to bet that they’re just smoke and mirrors, I wouldn’t be surprised if that idiot Spike is under one of those masks.

Coleman: The real test will come into play when the rest of the asylum is open for full run. Any thoughts?

Matt Keith: Yeah, that’s when the real game begins, that’s going to be the time to separate the boys from men. But I’m still not worried, I’ve already beaten damn near every member of X-corp, Chance can testify to that. But the big game that’s on my mind is Leviathan. You see this man is big, he has all the size to be a living monster, but like every monster throughout history the doctor forgot to insert a brain. He runs his mouth about my game being strength in numbers, and what am I going to do without help.

[Matt pushes Coleman to the side and looks directly into the camera]

Matt Keith: Levi, my game has never been numbers, it’s been about out smarting, it’s been about actual wrestling. You can talk all you want big man because when it come to fist to fist, blood to blood, you won’t be fighting a group you’ll be fighting Matt Keith, YOUR BETTER!

[The scene begins to fade on Matt’s intense face]
