Ring Entrance

Darkness. Tchaikovsky’s “Marche Slave” begins and a single spotlight highlights John Dionysus as he steps through the curtain and walks purposefully towards the ring. Dionysus does not respond or react to the crowd, but walks on, his eyes directed straight ahead at the ring, full of focussed intensity. He climbs the steps and through the ropes, pacing full circle around the ring before taking a position in one of the corners, ready to go face to face with his opponent.

General Strategy

John Dionysus has not received the formal education afforded most professional wrestlers; he has been trained, but it has never been prolonged nor intense, and most of his moveset has come from clips he seen or aims at utilising his natural abilities. As a result his style is never what would be described as technical. He uses submission moves sparingly, and only has one real submission spot (unless he is applying a particular strategy that involves mat-based wrestling).

Dionysus is a good physical specimen with alot of natural strength, and his in-ring strategy reflects this. He is a powerful striker, especially with the knife edge chop, and he is learnt some Muay Thai techniques during his life and is particularly fond of the neck tie used to immoblise his opponent and administer some damaging knees and elbows. Dionysus is proficient at close quarter striking and brawling. However, Dionysus rarely reverts to hardcore or illegal tactics and is highly unlikely to recourse to the use of weapons or aerial or high risk tactics.

Dionysus uses his natural strength to carry out a variety of suplexes and slams on his opponent. He is surprisingly proficient at the suplex, in spite of limited formal training.

To summarise: not a technical wrestler; rarely uses submission holds or illegal/hardcore tactics and never takes the aerial route; his main wrestling strategy consists of using close quarter striking to set up the more powerful suplexes and slams in his moveset. A methodical wrestler who is very risk averse.
