ROUND ONE ENTRANCE (The Battle Hymn of the Republic plays on the arena PA, however, all of the lyrics have been replaced with the repeated intoning of \"Jim Black.\" The arena lights all go out, save for a single spotlight at the entranceway.)) Gary Trudeau: Weighing in at 241 pounds and hailing from Phoenix, Arizona... JIM BLACK!! (Jim Black waves jauntily to the booing crowd as he steps into the spotlight. Resting on his shoulder is Stick, his signature stick.) Fat Tony: It is always a treat to watch Jim Black wrestle. Frankly Jack, you should be paying the WWA to be able to call his matches! Jack: Is that a fact? Fat Tony: You can pay me if you prefer! (Jim Black arrives at ringside, where he hops up on the apron and mounts the corner outside of the ring. He raises Stick up triumphantly as the house lights come back up. Fat Tony: Jim black Jimblackjimblack jiiiiimblack! Jack: Would you shut up? Fat Tony: What?! It\'s catchy! Jack: Well get it out of your system now, because there's still three rounds to go. Fat Tony: and Jim Black is gonna be in all of them! |
| General Strategy |
While more than capable of fighting an opponent toe-to-toe, Jim Black is more philosophically inclined to fight dirty. He initially sticks to the ground game with his various strikes and suplexes, and if he can get a early win, he will use Fade to Black to finish. When facing more formidable opponents, he will first go for the knee with drop kicks, chop blocks, kneebreakers and the like. And when the knees give out, Black then takes to the air to hit his flying moves. With the opponents' knees hurt and mobility reduced, it is harder to evade Black's flying moves. And finally, there's Stick. If and ever Jim Black sees an opportunity to end it quick by whacking the oponent with Stick, he will. Repeatedly. This is a double-edged sword naturally, as someone can just as easily use Stick on Jim Black. If you need real-wrestler comparisons, use Eddie Guerrero and the Great Muta for a reference. |

ROUND TWO ENTRANCE (Again, the Battle Hymn of the Republic plays, with the lyrics changed to nothing but "Jim Black". He carries another Stick with him to the ring.) Gary Trudeau: This quarter-final match is scheduled for one fall. On his way to the ring, weighing in at 241 pounds, from Phoenix Arizona... JIM BLACK! Jack: If you want to make this a fair fight, the official should ban bringing that 'Stick' to ringside. Fat Tony: Actually, I believe Jim Black has registered Stick as his manager, so Stick can always be welcome at ringside. Jack: What's next? Having Stick do commentary? Fat Tony: Oh Jack, don't be an idiot. Stick can't talk. (Jim Black reaches the ring, confident after his first-round victory. As he waits for the announcements to finish, he bounces on the balls of his feet.) |
| Spot 2 |
ROUND THREE ENTRANCE (Jim Black rushes to the ring and grabs Gary Trudeau's mic before his music starts or he can be properly re-introduced. To facilitate a fair trade, Jim lets Gary hold Stick.) Jim Black: Yeah, yeah Gary, they get it, I'm Jim Black, and unless I moved or got a bad ase of the squats, I still come from Phoenix and I still weigh 241. Get on with it! And give my Stick back! (Jim Black drops the mic and snatches back Stick.) Jack: Um.. okay. |
| Spot 3 |
FINAL ROUND ENTRANCE (The house lights again fade to black, save for a single spotlight. In the spotlight in Jim Black. In his hand is Stick. After three gruelling matches, he does not have the same spring in his step that he did at the start of the evening.) Fat Tony: I never cease to be amazed by Jim Black. After the fights he's been through, he still can put on a show for his fans. Jack: What fans? Fat Tony: Well... Me, anyway. (Jim Black tosses Stick onto the ringside floor without a second thought. He gets into the ring and leans heavily in his corner.) |
| Notes |
I have submitted ring entrances for the first round, quarters, semis and finals. I am presuming a lot, that I'll even get out of the first round, but best to be prepared. |
