Ian Tense emerged onto the WWA landscape in early 2002. Immediately, he established himself as one of the more calculating and sinister wrestlers on the roster. Through a series of well-timed backstage attacks, Ian quickly rose through the TV title ranks, capturing the title -- the first of many individual championships.
After dropping the TV title, Ian teamed up with one time rival "Pretty Boy" Troy Walcott to reform The Fraternity. Ian too advantage of Walcott's trust and the exposure he gained as a member of The Fraternity to vault himself up the ladder into the US title scene. Ian betrayed Walcott, severely injuring him in the process and ending the Fraternity for good. Ian captured his first US Title in an Atlanta Street Fight against Harley Trapper and then-champion Shane Dorian. Ian held onto the belt for over 4 months before getting injured in a rematch with Dorian. After 2 months out of action, Ian returned and defeated Dorian to recapture the title and was never defeated for the belt.
With Ian's notoriety rising to historic levels, Ian entered Birthday Brawl 2002 as the US Champion, but would leave as the WWA World Champion, literally ripping the belt from fellow Hall-of-Famer Tracer Bullet's hands and ending Craven Moore's 2nd World Title Reign.
Ian would go on to hold the title for over 7 months, forming the Devil's Own alongside Leviathan and Lockdown. The Devil's Own would go on to become the dominant force in the WWA long after Ian Tense lost control of the stable to Dave Harley shortly after losing the World Title.
Ian would make several returns, highlighted by feuds with Denrol and Leviathan. But it was his last return under the guise of "Proteus" that was the most controversial as he sided with Kade Williams' The Damned stable to torture the entire WWA roster.
Ian's final match was against long-time heated rival, Damian Thorne. Much like their continuous rivalry that lasted for much of six years, the match ended with no clear winner. Ian retired on the first Underground of the revamped WWA. And did so with The Original Devil's Own in his corner.
